Moving from a Georgian midterrace house in London to a
traditional, two-up, two-down
Victorian property in Lewes,
Jessica Zoob and her family had
big plans for what they wanted
to achieve. Almost a decade after
arriving in the vibrant market
East Sussex town, Jessica couldn’t
be happier with how things have
turned out.
As an artist, Jessica was drawn to
the end of terrace property by the
potential it offered for giving her
a quiet place in which to paint.
“It was one of the few houses in
Lewes with a convertible garage
attached, to turn into a studio,”
she explains.
Over the years, the house that
Jessica shares with her two
daughters, 18-year-old Ana and
Kat, 15, has been completely
remodelled and redecorated,
extending to the side and up
into the loft to transform the
space from a two-up, two-down
to an eight-room family home.
Rather than enlisting the help of
architects, Jessica used her own
eye for detail to re-design the
property completely to her liking.
She says: “I used various builders
and trades for the project, but no
architects.”
