What made you decide to pursue a career in music?
I just love music and became interested at a young age in music and the fact I can sing made it even more logical for me to be doing what I am talented at. Once I recorded my first song and got a good response I knew a music career was for me the rest is history.
You have opened up for great names such as DMX, Slim from 112, Dondria, and a couple others. What was the feeling like being able to gain that experience?
It was an adrenaline rush for me I was just excited to touch the same stage as these artist. I knew people came out to see these major artists so I knew if I could impress their crowd I knew I had something special. Definitely a humbling experience to talk to the artist afterwards and soak in their wisdom helped me gain my thought process I have now if I continue to solely work and put out quality material all around the board things will happen for me.
Who are some acts you would love to have the pleasure of opening up for in the future?
Usher is my idol so him first and foremost but id love to share the stage with ne-yo, tank, tyrese, chris brown, and trey songz.
You mentioned you credit your mother for your singing ability, why is that?
My mother, Tamarah Sears, sings and that is where I get my ability and strong voice from my mom used to sing to me when I was young. My brother, I, and my two sisters all have our own songs from when we were kids my mom made them especially for each one of us lol. Love my momma to death she’s the reason I sing her and my grandma, Cynthia Mallory, I got to get them that big house they always wanted I made that promise to them so I got to make it happen. I’m going to give them the world when I am able to.
I want to get a little into your first song "Freak You". Did you expect that song to become an instant hit?
That joint was an instant HIT. It was G.B. The FlyBoi featuring myself it was on the airwaves and in clubs for like two years straight I actually didn’t like the song when I first recorded it. Turned out to be the joint that caught me the buzz I needed to do my own thing.
