a note from G-Team's Danni Landa
Can you imagine a life without any
PMS?!
I had read all the articles about omegas this and omegas that and even though I couldn’t tell you anything
scientific about it, the one thing I knew is that I was probably not getting enough. At that time, fish oil was the
be all and end all of omegas, then came krill and now its algae. But I also knew that the fish used to produce
fish oil are often endangered and also potentially full of mercury, that algae production is not sustainable and
that krill is food for whales - they probably need it more than me. Even though I am not vegan, I wanted to find
a sustainable, plant based source of omegas.
I came across a
reference to hemp
seed oil containing
the perfect balance
of Omega 3 and 6.
Looking through a few books, I came across a reference to hemp seed oil containing the perfect balance of Omega 3 and 6. After a bit more research, I had found my
perfect supplement. I know myself pretty well and decided that the best way for me
to get my omega intake was to take it in the form of a capsule with my morning tea. It
works for me. I didn’t expect any miracles or any va-va-voom changes I just thought I was
giving my body what it needed. But there was a miracle. After a few months, I came
to the realization that I no longer experienced period pains and that my premenstrual
syndrome (PMS) was hardly noticeable. I actually started having periods that were
pain free and easy to deal with. It was amazing.
Was this how periods were meant to be? Had we all been duped into thinking that
period pain and PMS are a ‘natural’ part of being female?
I hadn’t made the connection to the hemp seed oil until I ran out one day
and took a few months to order some more. Within one cycle the
familiar cramping and crankiness was back with a vengeance. Now I
make sure I never, ever run out of this liquid gold.
I can confidently
say that taking
hemp seed
oil daily has
completely
changed my life.
In Australia, hemp is only available for cosmetic use and not
permitted for consumption. All other countries in the world
permit hemp for human consumption. Talk to your local health
food store manager for more information.
