hat is a detox?
The noun ‘detox’ means a process or period of time in which one
abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances. Often
touted by celebrities and influential personalities as their quick fix weight loss
trick, or the go-to when summer comes around quicker than expected for
a rapid hit of “healthy” before slipping into a bikini. There are various types
of detox plans available. From the simple addition of green juices to a
wholesome diet, to full on regimes with pills, potions, tonics and typically
a diet consisting of raw foods, or juices only. Popular marketed ‘detox’
programs include The Lemon Detox Diet, the 48-Hour Rapid Detox,
4321 10 Day Body Detox, Bioglan Intense Cleanse,
