CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
The following descriptions are organized alphabetically by category and name so you can easily find what
interests you. The majority of these programs are available for free to anyone in the community, including Mount
Carmel colleagues, partners, volunteers, patients and families. Free parking and bus passes are also available.
CAN CE R S E RV I C ES
Cooking Class
This hands on cooking series is organized in partnership
with Local Matters and offers cancer survivors and those
currently going through treatment an opportunity to
experiment healthier cooking in a fun atmosphere. Space
is limited. Registration required. Please call Maria Ramos

Images for Women
Mount Carmel Images for Women offers fashionable,
high-quality lingerie, swimwear, prostheses and breast
enhancers; plus, informational resources to answer the
questions and serve the unique needs of women dealing
with breast cancer. Dates and time may vary. Appointment

Movement Variety Class for Cancer Survivors
This class, organized by Mount Carmel Survivorship
Services, is designed to get your heart rate up and to have
fun. Classes will feature different movement combinations
from Yoga and Pilates to core strength and light strength

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION
Breastfeeding Support
Join one of our certified lactation counselors as she offers
new mothers a chance to learn, ask questions, get good
advice and share your experience with other moms in a
private, nurturing environment. Breastfeeding babies are

Little Miracles Maternity Tours
Take this tour four weeks before your due date so you’ll
be ready when the big day arrives. You’ll tour labor and
delivery, mother and/baby postpartum and nursey areas
and get an overview of what to expect when you come
to the hospital. Suggested for couples not participating
in Mount Carmel’s Childbirth Education classes.

Moms2B
Moms2B is a weekly prenatal education program in
partnership with The Ohio State University. You will
have the chance to learn how to have a healthy baby and
pregnancy, talk with healthcare professionals, and make
new friends! You will also enjoy a healthy meal every
week. We offer moms the support they need to have a
healthy baby and pregnancy, good food, friendships, child
care and a small gift card for your time. Registration NOT
required. Walk-ins are welcome. Call Jamie Sager at

COMMUNIT Y MEETINGS
Community Friendship Program
The Friends’ Program provides an opportunity for recently
housed persons who have experienced homelessness to
share, connect and build relationships with interested
persons in the community. The program also provides a
framework to develop social support, provide connections
to community resources and assist in acclimating into
housed living. Registration is NOT required. Call Abra

Franklinton Area Commissioners meet to address various
