5 Ways You Can Support National Impaired Driving
Month This December!
The Idea Corner
Impaired driving is a broader description than drunk driving,
in encompasses people who are driving drugged. Impaired driving
is a problem that is on the rise especially with the legalization of
marijuana in many states. www.StopDruggedDriving.com gives a
conservative estimate that 20% of traffic accidents are caused by
drugged driving.
December is National Impaired Driving month and because
of all the holiday parties and road trips, it is the perfect time of year
to raise awareness. Take the time to remind everyone you love to
be on the lookout for impaired drivers and to be sure they don’t
ever get behind the wheel impaired. Here’s some simple ways you
can support National Impaired Driving month…
#1. Plan ahead. This includes choosing a designated driver.
Choose someone responsible who will stay sober and drug free.
#2. Make safe driving an easy option. Let your loved ones by
know they have access to a safe ride when they need it. Drunk,
drugged, or both, people need to know they can get a ride and not
have to drive. With Uber and Lyft a safe drive is only a click away
on your phone.
#3. Watch out for unsafe drivers. If you see an erratic driver or
suspect an impaired driver call 911 immediately. Your call could
save lives.
#4. Share your support. You can raise awareness of National
Impaired Driving month with all your followers through social
media. The more people who you reach, the more people who
have the subject at the top of their awareness and the better
chances of minimizing the 100% preventable tragedies that
impaired driving brings.
#5. Support a victim or a victim’s family. Find a local family
who are victims of an impaired driver and see if they need a meal
or just send them an encouraging message. You can also usually
find victims to help and support on www.GoFundMe.com

Binge Watch Much?
The holiday season is a
great time to hunker down with the
family on a cold winter’s day, with
some hot cocoa and popcorn on
hand and binge watch a great
series.
Here are some binge
watching worthy ideas:
Downton Abbey (Amazon Video)
Stranger Things (Netflix)
Smallville (Hulu)
The Arrow (Netflix)
Flash (Netflix)
Gilmore Girls (Netflix)
Fuller House (Netflix)
Supergirl (Netflix)
The Middle (Hulu)
Parks and Recreation (Netflix)
Burn Notice (Netflix)
All of these shows are rated
PG or TV-14, so most are family
friendly, although some are more
appropriate for older kids. What is
your favorite series to binge watch?
