5 Ways You Can Support National Impaired Driving Month This December! The Idea Corner Impaired driving is a broader description than drunk driving, in encompasses people who are driving drugged. Impaired driving is a problem that is on the rise especially with the legalization of marijuana in many states. www.StopDruggedDriving.com gives a conservative estimate that 20% of traffic accidents are caused by drugged driving. December is National Impaired Driving month and because of all the holiday parties and road trips, it is the perfect time of year to raise awareness. Take the time to remind everyone you love to be on the lookout for impaired drivers and to be sure they don’t ever get behind the wheel impaired. Here’s some simple ways you can support National Impaired Driving month… #1. Plan ahead. This includes choosing a designated driver. Choose someone responsible who will stay sober and drug free. #2. Make safe driving an easy option. Let your loved ones by know they have access to a safe ride when they need it. You can raise awareness of National Impaired Driving month with all your followers through social media. The more people who you reach, the more people who have the subject at the top of their awareness and the better chances of minimizing the 100% preventable tragedies that impaired driving brings. #5. Support a victim or a victim’s family. Find a local family who are victims of an impaired driver and see if they need a meal or just send them an encouraging message.
