Get Ready For Your Holiday Guests
In 4 Easy Steps!
This time of year usually means parties, family visits, and
dinners with friends. You have enough on your plate without
having to worry about guest preparations. Take these 4 easy
steps and you can breeze through the holidays with less stress…
#1 Put a shine on it. You’re more than busy but, of course, you
want to entertain in a clean home. Many experts recommend
chunking your big chores into small tasks, i.e. clean bathrooms on
Monday, wash bedding on Tuesday, clean floors on Wednesday,
clean the kitchen on Thursday, and empty the trash on Friday. Of
course you’re going to want your carpets cleaned by a professional
so everything is sparkling and fresh for the festivities, so be sure to
give me a call early in the month, and I will even clean up any
spots and spills after the holidays for free. (See specials on insert.)
#2 Fill the pantry. With guests and holidays comes lots of eating.
It’s always nice to stock up on your guest’s favorite coffee brands
and breakfast items. You can pre-bake goodies, and stock your
freezer with some dishes you make ahead of time, so you have
easy home cooked options. Of course, Costco can be your best
friend when you are stocking up for a house full of guests. Also,
with multiple free grocery delivery services in many areas, you can
get all your grocery shopping done from the palm of your hand.
#3 And then there are presents. When the guests arrive it’s nice
to greet them with a welcoming gift or a party favor. And this
doesn’t have to be a gift that breaks the bank. A thoughtful hand
made gift is always appreciated and often more special. You could
spend a Saturday afternoon with your kids creating bracelets for
your guests, perfecting a signature jam recipe, or decorating
picture frames. And, of course, Pinterest will give you endless
ideas on DIY gifts for your guests.
#4 Keep them busy. Especially when entertaining out of town
guests, take a few minutes to Google local events in your area.
Tree lighting ceremonies, outdoor ice skating, special holiday
movie events, concerts, or plays, are just a few of the common
festivities you might find locally. You can also YELP! some of the
best breakfast restaurants in you area or find a new dinner place to
try out. With all this at your fingertips your guests will have to time
of their lives
Remember you don’t have to be perfect, no one expects you to be
Martha Stewart. It’s okay to relax, and settle for “it’s good enough”.
Enjoy your guests this season.
