Hell Week

Recovery

The Gist:

Have you just finished all papers and long tests you’ve just crammed the night before their deadlines? Drank your body’s weight of coffee or energy drinks? Have you just survived another hell week?

You would probably answer yes to all of the questions above. All we ateneans experience hell week. We know tips and tricks to get through the week without passing out. We would try anything to ensure that we meet deadlines like taking all-nighters or drinking a lot of red bull. The thing is that it isn’t healthy. The best thing to do right after is to get back on track and stay healthy.

1. Take a Short Nap

According to an article from Huffington Post, sleep deprivation can lead to depression, sleep paralysis, weight gain, and a weaker immune system. The National Sleep Foundation recommends 20-30 minutes of nap to restore alertness for a few hours during the day. This would help you feel rejuvenated as well as get you back to a normal sleeping habit. Just remember not to take a nap for more than 40 minutes so that you won’t feel groggy after. So, when you find yourself in Ateneo after an all-nighter, stop by the Rizal Library and take a short nap in one of the couches!
