Garlic has been shown to lower total cholesterol levels while improving HDL cholesterol levels. Garlic’s antimicrobial activity is a result of the compound allicin, which is effective against common infections such as flu and colds, Candida yeast and stomach viruses. Research shows the quantity of allicin produced in a single clove of garlic is effective in killing methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycinresistant Enterococci. 10. Get some vitamin D. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression, have your vitamin D level checked.
