Tanya Tyler
Editor, Health&Wellness Magazine
Dear Friends,
Childhood is supposed to a happy,
magical time filled with wonder and
exploration, play and promises. I
look back on my own growing-up
years with fondness and gratitude
for my family and all those road trips
we took; for my friends who ran and
jumped and rode bikes with me;
for the playgrounds where I scaled
monkey bars and skinned my knees.
Things are different now. Kids tweet
and text and spend their days in front
of video screens, and the world is a
lot scarier now than it was when I
was growing up. So our dedication
to our children as parents and caring
adults should be even more solid.
We want to protect our children,
nourish our children, encourage our
children and help them grow up and
fulfill their potential. As we focus
on children’s health in this issue, I
hope you take the time to consider
the Health and Wellness of the child
or children in your life. And hey, for
good measure, give them a hug. You
will hold, for a moment, the future in
your arms.
