One Year and Going Strong
This issue of Healthcare Hygiene magazine marks the first anniversary of publishing through my new company , Keystone Media Inc ., but more importantly , it signifies that there was indeed room for an alternative to the media status quo serving the infection prevention and control segment of healthcare .
Our steadfast progress in the marketplace in such a short time proves that readers are hungry for science-driven content devoid of commercial overtones and potential bias . And that industry is ready to try a new alternative to branding and marketing that educates without conflating information with hawking widgets . Not everyone is ready for this new style of communicating , but when they are , we will be here to welcome them to our unique approach to building bridges between stakeholders .
Leaving the security of a longstanding corporate career for the unknowns of entrepreneurship a little more than a year ago was the beginning of a journey that still proves to be both rewarding and challenging , especially during a global pandemic . With conferences and trade shows cancelled this year and a move toward digital , I missed the opportunity to see you all again in person ; here ’ s hoping we ’ ll be able to resume some sense of normalcy in 2021 .
A successful launch of my company would not have been possible without key individuals and entities that believed in me from the very beginning , no questions asked , as well as those who have joined me in recent months . I thank my staff , clinical and business consultants , contractors , contributors , professional colleagues , and , of course , my faithful advertisers , for without their support , none of this would be possible .
Despite the usual obstacles that every new enterprise faces , it has been a momentous first year and I am proud of the 12 monthly issues , six special editions and multiple nursing CE programs that have been developed so far . It is my sincere hope that through our innovative media and educational programs , we are contributing value to healthcare stakeholders who depend upon solid , evidence-based information and expert perspectives . It is an honor to serve this segment of the healthcare industry , and I hope you will remain with us on the exciting journey ahead .
