These procedures require highly trained and skilled staff to perform safe procedures , but also require oversight to insure the integration of key infection prevention and safety practices ( Moureau , 2019 ). Hospitals that apply recommendations , guidelines , current standards , and competency assessment of inserters provide patients with the highest quality care . Provision of consistent education , competency assessment and outcome monitoring improve outcomes , limit liability , and serve to reduce the cost of healthcare , while providing the patient with safe treatment delivery .
