A Rogers urgent care and occupational service business, Midwest Urgent Care, located at 21410 136th Ave. N Suite 105-B, now offers a revolutionary pain treatment machine for those experiencing chronic pain or pain from an injury. The StemWave Therapy machine offers relief through a noninvasive treatment that utilizes acoustic waves to alleviate pain and provide natural healing.
Midwest Urgent Care became aware of this type of therapy after Midwest Urgent Care COO and registered nurse Mary Khashan received a similar type of treatment from a doctor, called SoftWave Therapy.
“ I’ ve been told that I was a candidate for an early knee replacement 10 years ago and that to try to stave that off for as long as possible would be in my best interest. So, we heard about the StemWave technology, I did go,” Mary Khashan said.“ I had one treatment on my knees. I walked in that appointment with pain at probably a good six, and walked out of the appointment after one treatment at a zero out of ten.”
The treatment delivers more focused waves to the affected area, unlike similar machines that use scattered waves. Also, it delivers levels of peak energy output within the focused zone that can be five to 10 times more powerful.
StemWave functions by creating a spark in water to create these targeted acoustic waves. The waves work at a cellular level to generate different biological responses to alleviate pain, decrease inflammation and improve the range of motion.

StemWave can target areas of chronic pain such as the back, knees, ankles, neck, shoulders, feet and more. It can also help patients who are experiencing pain from a specific acute injury.
“ That’ s the great thing about this StemWave technology, is that it is for treatment of chronic and acute injuries or areas of issue,” Mary Khashan said.“ So if you have somebody that is playing on a softball field, slides into second base and twists the wrong way. We can use Stem- Wave to promote healing in an area that is injured, which will actually result in a faster healing process.”
The StemWave machine is FDA listed. Treatment is quick and each session usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes, with the entire appointment lasting around 25 to 30 minutes.
However, appointment times can vary depending on what area of the body is being treated. The initial consultation visit for a StemWave treatment at

Midwest Urgent Care costs $ 49.“ First, I review the history of the patient and then [ in ] occasion their health. Let’ s say their knee is injured, [ I review ] if they had surgeries, if they tried any kind of other treatment, to see if they’ re a candidate for Stem- Wave,” Midwest Urgent Care CEO and provider Ammar Khashan said.
If a patient is a candidate, then the provider maps out where the inflamed / injured area is and does a small amount of StemWave treatment during the first visit. If StemWave is used on an area of the body that isn’ t injured or painful, it doesn’ t affect this part of the body.
Treatments have minimal to no side effects. Midwest Urgent Care prides itself on providing the sessions at one of the lowest prices, especially since insurance doesn’ t cover StemWave Therapy.
They also are looking into approving care credit as a way to pay for the treatments. Payment plans and other types of payment alternatives are also available for StemWave Therapy.
Besides StemWave Therapy, Midwest Urgent Care also offers other services than just StemWave Therapy and urgent care, such as occupational services and nutritional IVs.“ We continuously hear,‘ We
