The CDT/MLD portion of Terry’s practice
encompasses approximately 80 percent
of the therapy provided to her patients.
Being one of a few private practicing
Lymphedema Therapists in the area,
Terry consults and collaborates with
the Lymphedema Nurse Coordinators/
colleagues throughout the province but
especially with the H. Bliss Murphy
Cancer Centre at the Health Sciences
Centre in St. John’s. Lymphedema
patients are usually referred through
Nurse Coordinators/Practitioners, Physio-
Therapists, Occupational Therapists,
Healthcare Professionals, and Doctors for
treatment of both primary and secondary
symptoms of Lymphedema.
Terry encourages every patient she
works with, provides education,
and demonstrates self-management
techniques for Lymphedema. Her
primary goal for each and every patient
is to provide empowerment, education,
and encouragement before, during,
and “always” after each treatment. This
promotes a positive experience and
enhances quality of life. It truly is a
treatment that has a lasting effect on the
patient. Terry is consistent in upgrading
skills and learning new techniques to
enhance her practice.
In her spare time, Terry teaches shallow
water fitness, practices yoga, and loves
to travel, cook, and spend time with her
beautiful supportive family.
