Andthensetyourintentionfortheday.Forinstance:“TodayisgoingtobeagreatdaybecauseIgettorecordthisaudiothatwillbetransformedintoanarticlethatwillinspireandtouchpeople’slives.Igettobringmykidstoschool.Igettomakemyspousesmile.”Allofthiscanhappeninmoments.Gratitude,appreciationforawin,orsomethingyouaccomplishedthedaybefore.Setyourintentionforthedayandthenallofasudden,you’vefedyourmindandfedyoursoul.
ThenIliterallygetupandwanttofeedmybody.Forme,Ifillaglasswithwater,Isqueezeawholelemoninit,IputsomeMCT(mediumchaintriglycerides)oilinit,Ialsoputsomeapplecidervinegarinit,andthenawholescoopofgreenpowder.Justagreenjuice.AndIshakeitupanddrinkthatinsteadofcoffee,insteadofanythingelse,becauseIfeellikethatnourishesandfeedsmybody.Ithelpswithacidity.Ithelpsmegetenoughenergytogodomynextpart.Andthat’smove.
Ifyou’rejuststartingtoworkout,gotakeawalk,walkaroundtheneighborhood,orwalkaroundthehouse.Butforme,it’seitherdoingcardioorgoingtothegymandgettingthatdoneearly.IdothisbeforemykidsgetupbecauseIknowasbusyasIam,ifIdon’tgetmyworkoutinthemorning,itnevergetsdonebecausethedaywilljustgetgobbledup.
Forme,allofthishappensinmoments.Iwakeup,Ithinkofgratitude,Ithinkofawinfromthedaybefore,Ithinkofawinthat’llhappenthatday,Isetmyintentionfortheday—It’sgoingtobeagreatdaybecausethisiswhatI’mgoingtodo—thenIfeedmybodywithsomethingnourishing,andthenIgomove.AndwhenIgetbackfrommoving,that’swhenIcananswermyphone,orlookatitifIwant,ornot.Personally,Iprefertomakebreakfastformyfamily.ThatishowIsetupthestarttomyday.
Onelastthing.Whenyousetyourto-dolistfortheday,insteadofthinkingofitaswhatyouhavetodoorwhatyoumustdo,lookthroughtheglassesofwhatyougettodothatday.Becauseyougettodothatwhenyoucouldverywellhavenotevenbeenheretoday.OryoucouldbeintheArizonaheatat115or118degreesdiggingaditch,hopingtosomedaymoveuptosupervisingdiggingthatditchorputtingblackshinglesonaroofinthehotsun.Iwillalwaystrytocomparemyopportunitytochangelivesandtobeinbusinesstosomeonewhodoesn’thaveajob,whodoesn’thaveadesire,orwhohasareallydifficultjob.Whenyouapproachyourto-dolistwith“Igettodothis,”itlookscompletelydifferentthanthinking“Imustdothis.”
