Getting Back on Course

Thanks to SBL Physical Therapy, Joe Dively is swinging a club again after a serious accident.
Joe Dively, chairman and CEO of First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust, has loved playing golf for as long as he can remember. So it’ s not surprising that getting back on the golf course was a top priority when he entered physical therapy in January, following a serious accident.
The accident occurred in October 2016 when Dively and a friend were riding in a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle( ATV).“ I’ ll always remember it was Homecoming at EIU and we had some friends over. After dinner, my friend said,‘ Let’ s go for a ride,’ and we jumped in and, probably for the first time in my life, I didn’ t put on my seat belt,” Joe said. The two were riding on flat farm ground next to Joe’ s house, he said, when“ I was just trying to do donuts in a cornfield – just messing around – and it just flipped over and threw me out of the roof.”
Joe’ s friend broke a finger, but Joe was rushed by ambulance to Sarah Bush Lincoln and then flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Champaign where he underwent surgery to repair his severely fractured pelvis.
