RESPIRATORY CARE
As a respiratory therapist, you’ll evaluate, diagnose, and treat heart and lung issues including
chronic diseases and emergencies. An aging population, coupled with an increase in chronic diseases
such as asthma and COPD, is leading to significant growth and opportunity in this industry – and
your work can take you to a variety of settings, from hospitals to home care to long-term care
facilities. The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped the critical role the respiratory therapist plays in
ventilator management and treatment of acute respiratory failure.
