RESPIRATORY CARE As a respiratory therapist, you’ll evaluate, diagnose, and treat heart and lung issues including chronic diseases and emergencies. An aging population, coupled with an increase in chronic diseases such as asthma and COPD, is leading to significant growth and opportunity in this industry – and your work can take you to a variety of settings, from hospitals to home care to long-term care facilities. The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped the critical role the respiratory therapist plays in ventilator management and treatment of acute respiratory failure.
