Health and Personal Fitness

Each student will understand how health and wellness truly impacts individuals and society. Students will learn about health issues as well has applying preventative strategies to their daily routines in hopes of becoming a better version of their current self. Students will learn how to establish attainable goals while trying to meet and exceed their goals throughout the semester. Students will be competent in the following areas upon completion of the course: The four components of health, decision-making, goal-setting, time management, nutrition, eating disorders, exercise/activity, choosing the best life, alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, and CPR.

Prerequisites: None

Grade Levels: 9 - 12 (Transitioning to mandated for 9th graders)
