We held another Ecosystem
event, where patient focus
really shone brightly. The
Ecosystem community moved
forward, strengthening its
networks while remaining
open always.
phenomenal. When we put this
week on, it reminds me so much
of the passion we all have for what
we do. We are on a mission to
bring digital health to Ireland, and
it feels great to share that with you
and to be part of building a better
health service.
This is just a snapshot, and one I
was privileged to be a part of.
Health Innovation Week has
yet again been a huge success.
Innovation Showcase and indeed
Health Innovation Week are
collaborative efforts that could
not happen without all of you –
our partners, exhibitors, speakers,
attendees, hosts, staff, everyone.
This event allows for sharing of
ideas, and knowledge and in both
structured and unstructured ways.
The feedback we’ve gotten for
the day and the week has been

ast year we held the first ever
Health Innovation Week and I
promised to bring it back, bigger
and better. I think we met that
goal. We repeated some things,
grew some others, and introduced
some new elements.
This magazine aims to share with
you some of the highlights of the
week, but first let me give you an
overview of the breadth of events
and engagement we had.

We expanded the week
outside of Dublin, with a
seminar hosted in Cork
University Business School.
We grew the hackathon,
with the eHealth Innovation
Challenge being incredibly
creative, energetic and
enthusiastic, supported by

partners and increased number of mentors.
We watched as One Health Tech Ireland was
launched and look forward to seeing more
diversity in health innovation as a result.
We moved the Innovation Showcase to the
beautiful purpose built Printworks in Dublin
Castle with over 30 exhibitors, 40 speakers
and ran a national competition called eHealth
Digital Natives for school children – who really
truly are the most incredible innovators and
whose ideas give me great faith in the future.
We welcomed the HIMSS Executive Leadership
Summit back to Dublin for the third time
with a partnership that continues to develop,
providing leadership and learning to health
care professionals in Ireland.

what is possible in healthcare, now and in the
future. Innovations and digital technologies
are already helping us to build a better health
service, and it is inspiring to see so many ideas
and creations that will shape healthcare for
Irish patients into the future.”
