The base assumptions upon which health systems
were built are no longer valid or relevant. Like every
other global core system that is emerging from the
industrial age to the innovation age, health and
healthcare are rebasing.
Dr. Khayat outlined the major forces at play that are
(finally) tipping health systems all over the world
towards the Future of Health. She worked through
the 6 underlying shifts underway, and highlighted
examples of “shift disturbers” who are leading the
way. Zayna ended her presentation with some
lessons learned about the barriers to realizing
the Future of Health “at scale” and examples of
innovative ways entrepreneurs and intre-preneurs
are busting through the barriers.

Dr Johnny Walker took the audience on an
accelerating healthcare journey with his lively and
inspiring presentation. Johnny had many messages
to share from his experiences promoting health and
wellness from ‘womb to tomb’ across Australia, the
United States and Ireland.
He provided an amazing insight into the potential
of putting health into the hands of the patient
and emphasised the importance of clinicians
engaging with patients and caregivers in their own
homes using digital technologies. Other important
messages included the use of personalised medicine
to prevent patients becoming sick and the use of
high quality data to build new systems.
