What to do?

Scene that might hint at suicide.

Scene 1:

Cathy: Why are you breaking up with me!

Bob: Because you are annoying and ugly.

Cathy: Why are you like this? I w.

Bob: I don’t care about you. Do whatever you want.

Cathy: (runs to the top of the building) I’m going to jump!

Bob: Stop being so rash. What is your problem?

(Taylor comes in)

Taylor: Dude, Cathy! What are you doing?

Bob: Great, deal with you friend!

(Bob leaves)

Taylor: Come on Cathy! I know you don’t want to do this. Who cares about that jerk? You will find someone eventually.

Cathy: Really? But I’m ugly, I’m not worth anyone’s time.

Taylor: They are guys they don’t think, they’re dumb people.

(Cathy comes down)

Cathy: Thanks Taylor. Don’t know what I would do without you.

Scene 2:

(At school, sees Bob with another girl)

Cathy: WHAT! Oh my gosh. I can’t believe he moved on so fast!

(Bob kisses girl)

Cathy: Can’t believe this! Why is this happening to me? I’m already so stressed out at home with my parents and with school work I don’t need this.

(Cathy goes home, grabs a knife and contemplates cutting herself)

(Mom knocks on her door, Cathy hides the knife)

Mom: Hey dinner’s almost on the table.

Scene 3:

(Late at night, mom and dad are fighting)

Cathy: (crying) I can’t take this anymore, what is wrong with them? Are they trying to make this family miserable?

(Cathy rushes out of her room)

Cathy: SHUT UP! Stop arguing this is killing me! Can’t you do this somewhere else?

Dad: (Drunk, hits Cathy) You shut up, you ungrateful girl. I do so much for this family and this is how you treat me!

Cathy: FINE! I’ll leave!

(Cathy storms out the room)

Cathy: What’s wrong with my family? Why can’t it just be like every other family? Gosh! I’ll just run away so they don’t have to deal with me ever again!

(Mom runs out looking or Cathy)

Mom: CATHY! WHERE ARE YOU! COME BACK! YOU KNOW YOUR DAD DIDN’T MEAN IT!

(Mom sees Cathy, Cathy runs away)

Mom: CATHY!

Cathy: Get away mom! I’m such a nuisance to you guys anyways.

Mom: No you aren’t. Come back we can work things out. I know you want to run away from the problem but that won’t help. We can face any problem together, trust me!

Cathy: Why there’s no point to anything?

Mom: There is, just don’t think about all the bad things in your life but instead of all the happy times you had.

Cathy: Fine. I’ll come back with you.
