ROBERT SAUNDERS, DOCTORATE IN PHARMACY STUDENT
“For me Continuing Professional Development is about personal and professional
growth that supports a health care professional to maintain high levels of
patient care, and also to facilitate career progression in a chosen sector or
specialty. I have taken postgraduate courses to support my chosen career
path, sometimes to maintain competency in my current role, but often
to allow me to develop and progress within the NHS. I have found
that Keele has a broad portfolio of postgraduate courses and
excellent academic support that has meant that I have always
been able to confidently pick a course to meet my
educational needs at the time.
This is increasingly important because healthcare is
facing many challenges and it is crucial that
healthcare professionals have the necessary
experience and qualifications to perform
their role, in terms of patient safety, and
also because the competition for
jobs is getting fiercer all the time.”
