EYE SURGEONS CAREER MILESTONE Wolstan & Goldberg Eye Associates was one of the first eye care facilities in the South Bay to help patients achieve full-spectrum vision after cataract surgery. In 2005, we were proud to be amongst the first in Southern California to offer our patients new accommodative and multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs). These patients have eliminated their need for reading glasses. In 2011, we were also among the first surgeons in the country to offer femtosecond laser technology with the LenSx® laser. Performing cataract surgery by laser for the first time in history has provided a new level of precision, safety and predictability. In order to remain on the forefront of new technologies and treatments, we feel honored to be one of the few practices in the country trusted with evaluating and testing new lens implants and eye therapies in FDA clinical trials. PRACTICE SPECIALTY The foundation stone of our practice has been continuity of care. We don’t just treat patients; we want to become partners in maintaining their overall eye health. We offer basic eye exams, customized cataract care, elective and cosmetic procedures including LASIK, and an optical shop with the latest in frame design. HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY? “A major priority for us is our affiliation with Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE) International (seeintl.org), a non-profit organization that provides medical, surgical and educational services through volunteer ophthalmic surgeons to restore sight and prevent blindness in disadvantaged individuals worldwide. For more than 10 years, Dr. Wolstan has traveled to Namibia with SEE International to perform cataract surgery and eye exams for people in surrounding villages. Last year, he performed more than 300 cataract surgeries in a 10-day period.” oursouthbay.com | 2013 Southbay Health? 67
