God is patient. God can wait. God knows how to wait. God knows how long to wait.
Patience is a virtue. Patience is a fruit of The Spirit. There are many examples of patience in the Word of God. Our understanding of patience is extremely limited, as we experience patience in the natural flesh dimension. As a standard line, I used to say that I lack patience because I do not like to wait for anything. We live on fast forward, we worry fast forward, we borrow and create negative credit in order to live fast forward and since time is of the essence, we sleep fast forward. However, God said patience is a fruit of The Spirit, and we received it in full measure.
I have these conversations with The Lord and one of my favourite topics are patience. I feel that anything that takes longer than 24 hours to manifest, is punishment and pushes the bar from patience to long suffering (lol). We live in a world that feels like it is spinning out of control and the faster we move, the slower we seem to go. The race of life.
Patience is almost like the story of the tortoise and the hare, where the over estimation of his speed caused the hare to lose the race. There are many incidents in the Word of God where patience lost, caused havoc. One of the first incidents are the Israelites that were miraculously delivered out of Egypt. That was a painful process of God displaying His greater Glory over Pharaoh and his sorcerers and their powers. God patiently endured against the patient endurance of Great Pharaoh. I doubt the Israelites understood or appreciated the process of patience at work. I don’t believe that Moses even understood that God was patiently outwitting Pharaoh.
