So what happens to us after we’ve reached the end of the Old Soul stage
and completed our reincarnations? Do we just hang around for all eternity
and play the harp in a celestial choir?
In an effort to answer this question, some spiritual thinkers posit two
additional soul stages beyond the five discussed above – the
Transcendental Soul and the Infinite Soul.
To understand these stages, it is important to understand the concept of
the “Oversoul”. There is a school of thought among those who embrace the
concept of reincarnation that at the time of creation (the Big Bang?)
clustered groups of souls came into being in structures consisting of
“master soul units” (the Oversoul) which is the true essence of our being.
What makes us uniquely us, spiritually speaking, is contained in this
conglomeration of soul units. We are, indeed, part of a whole.
Throughout most of our lifetimes here on Earth, each of the soul units –
think of these as “soul extensions” - has embodied in separate
incarnations. In other words, although we are an individuated soul, our
Oversoul has allowed a piece of itself to detach and become our soul for
this lifetime. In essence, we “borrowed” this fragment of our Oversoul for a
time. Each of the “soul units” may be at a different stage in soul evolution -
some ahead, some behind. (The “Oversoul” shouldn’t be confused with the
“Soul Group” which may be defined as a collection of individual souls who
regularly incarnate at the same time.)
The Oversoul may go a long way toward explaining Parallel Lives and
Twin Flame Soulmates. Parallel Lives refers to the belief that we can live
simultaneous lives at the same time. An example would be a prominent
Madison Avenue ad exec that is simultaneously living a life as a bag lady in
Los Angeles. In this case, the soul of each incarnation is merely part (or an
extension) of a cluster of souls (the Oversoul). In the matter of Twin Flame
Soulmates, each is a part of the same Oversoul and may be the closest
soul extension of the other. There may, indeed, be even Triple, Quadruple
or any number of “Flames”.
