Now we know that the client took cocaine (want) to be able to keep drinking,
because they wanted to drink to handle a feeling of anxiety, that was
triggered by something unconscious, because there was no specific memory,
thought pattern or self talk going on. However, they were in touch with it and
could activate it then, which means we would try simply calming down the
physiology of the body by applying an amygdala-calming technique called the
Trauma Tapping Technique, which involves tapping with fingertips on 13
points on the clients upper body during 5 minutes and breathing in a specific
way.
This worked well, and after the tapping the anxiety was gone, and so was the
urge to drink and the idea that there was a need to get rid of a habit or
addiction to take cocaine.
The client is in this case was taught to self-tap to have a tool at hand should
other stressors appear in the future. At a later checkup the results were
maintained.
Case 2. Allergic to not becoming pregnant
One of our clients (C) came to get help with an allergy to cats. The compass
helped me stumble intuitively on a pretty weird connection that led to
pregnancy and a very healthy child.
