What’s Happening Now
New Board Member Elected
The National Headache Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Mr.
Roger Plummer to its Board of Directors, effective November 12, 2013. Mr.
Plummer spent 30 years with the Bell System, retiring in December, 1993, as
President and CEO of Ameritech Corporation’s Custom Business Unit. Since
1995, he has headed his own consulting firm in addition to serving as Executive
Vice President of the International Engineering Consortium until January, 2013.
He received his B.S. in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Plummer has served on the University of Illinois Board
of Trustees and currently serves as Chair and Member of the Board of Directors
of the University of Illinois Foundation. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees
of DePaul University and of Window to the World Communications (Public
TV, Chicago). He is the Founding Chair and a Member of the Advisory Board
of Rush University Medical Center’s Neurobehavioral Center, and is a Member
of the National Institute of Medicine Committee on Governance and Financing
of Graduate Medical Education. Mr. Plummer has received recognition for his
volunteer work. He and his wife, Joanne, reside in Chicago.

The research committee, headed by Vincent Martin, MD,
have selected the following applications for NHF awards:
1. “Functional and Morphometric Measures in Chronic
Daily Headache – M arkers of D isease R eversal”
Principle Investigator: David Borsook, MD, PhD – Boston Children’s
Hospital/Harvard Medical School in collaboration with Mayo Clinic
(Michael Cutrer, MD)
2. “Adolescents with Migraine: What’s Stress Got to Do with It?”
Principle Investigator: Sita Kedia, MD – Children’s Hospital Colorado
This research is also being supported by the Libby Fund.
