What is a Concussion?

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). It can occur after an impact to the head or after a whiplash-type injury that causes the head and brain to shake quickly back and forth. Concussions can cause serious symptoms that require medical treatment. (WebMD)

Most people know that a concussion comes from sports injuries. Typically we see a lot of concussions in the NFL and other areas of the football environment.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BRAIN?

In most cases the brain is rattled by the trauma and contact. The initial impact can cause immediate dissiness in the person. Over a period of time the brain can sustain damage. Most concussions arent life threatening. Many people just experience the gnarly symptoms.
