Look for the“ Real” Dispensary Window Decal
While watching the local news recently, I was astounded to learn that over 500 million people have inquired about purchasing World Cup Soccer tickets. That’ s right, over 500 million! Obviously, not everyone will get tickets, but it’ s a strong indicator that Kansas City and surrounding cities will be overrun with soccer fans, tourists, and traffic during June and July. We can only hope that orange cones are removed from our local highways by May 31, or traffic congestion could be an absolute nightmare.
Nevertheless, millions of soccer fans will invade the KC area during June and July. Local businesses are gearing up to serve the massive influx of guests, including cannabis businesses. A growing number of dispensaries are now open 24 hours a day. The Kansas City Cannabis dispensary just off the I-70 and 7-Hwy exit began its 24-hour drive-thru window service in December, and many other 24-hour dispensaries should have operations well-honed by June, prepared to cater to both local and out-of-town consumers. But how will local or out-of-town consumers know they are entering a“ real” state-licensed cannabis dispensary?
During 2025, MoCannTrade, the Missouri cannabis industry’ s trade association, issued an“ Industry Call To Action: Trumpeting
We Are 100 % Missouri Grown” to educate consumers about the difference between what the industry has labeled“ fake dispensaries”( those businesses selling untested, unregulated cannabis products) and the“ Real” state-licensed cannabis dispensaries. MoCannTrade has provided dispensaries with“ 100 % Missouri Grown Plant Medicine,” window decals to help educate consumers that they are entering a“ Real” dispensary.
Further, in November 2025, the Division of Cannabis Regulation( DCR) launched its new“ Verified Dispensary” decal and public education tools for state-licensed cannabis dispensaries. The kits and materials include a“ Verified Dispensary” window decal designed to reduce consumer confusion about whether a business selling THC products is a“ Real” state-licensed dispensary or not. The“ Verified Dispensary” window decal also includes a QR code that customers can scan, which takes them directly to the DCR’ s website to view a state map of state-licensed cannabis dispensaries. Additionally, there are customer bag inserts featuring the DCR logo and the QR code linking to the state’ s official licensed dispensary map.
MoCannTrade said,“ From the MoCann perspective, we believe these materials will help eliminate consumer confusion as well as work in tandem with the existing 100 % Missouri Grown licensed dispensary decals.”
