I know how to improve your housing IT systems

“ The problem is easily fixed. I can fix it tomorrow.”
If housing IT systems were implemented with the same discipline that other sectors use, I estimate
Scott Summers that the sector could more than double its service efficiency and effectiveness. Service quality would increase at no additional cost.
The problems embedded by a bad implementation will not be fixed by the never ending“ clean up” projects, even over a 10 year contract. The result is you will never realise the true potential of a new system, and there will be years of frustration and friction within your team.
The housing sector plays a pivotal role in helping the most needy in our society, and is full of hard-working, well-meaning individuals who are consistently let down by the IT systems they’ re given to do their jobs. The problem is easily fixed. I can fix it tomorrow.
As a former IT transformation director and head of IT quality assurance at three investment banks, I’ m saddened by the common practices I see with systems implementation in the housing sector.
Why is this happening?
IT projects are given a fraction of the budget they need. Standard practice is not followed while good practice is unheard of. Roles that should be mandatory are not budgeted for and there’ s a systemic lack of experience and expertise in project teams.
What can be done?
QLP’ s founding mission was to bring IT system implementation good practice into the housing sector.
Despite the known benefits of lower total cost of ownership, reduced project risks and better outcomes, it’ s been an uphill struggle.
Too few people understand the problem. Those that do are blocked by entrenched behaviours set by leaders operating under budgets and expectations set years ago.
What is your solution?
Trying to change culture, years of ingrained behaviour and fighting politics is a losing battle.
Instead, we’ ve distilled decades of IT project delivery best practice, housing system knowledge and housing legislation into an AI model that can help your project teams deliver orders of magnitude faster, better and cheaper.
AI changes how the bar gets met.
QLP’ s AI model augments the traditional roles in a project team that a housing provider can’ t normally afford. It guides your project managers on planning, budgeting, next steps, project controls, and data migration and management. Defining what you really want from your system is a critical success factor. The AI helps you do that, then helps you confirm it’ s been delivered. It fills the holes left by a limited budget, an over-stretched and inexperienced team so that good practices can finally be followed in the housing sector.
A low-risk pilot.
QLP is offering a limited number of pilots for social housing providers. You’ ll see the pace, the controls and the quality for yourself. A pilot costs £ 10,000. If it doesn’ t speed up and improve the quality of your delivery, you get your money back. No argument.
