Setting Up a New Individual iPad
This setup requires that you be in a location with a wireless network.
After moving to an area with wireless access, please proceed with the
following directions. You will also need a computer for a small part of
this process.
Apple ID Setup
You will need to set up an iTunes account using your FirstClass email
address. These steps require you to have your iPad and be at a computer. Please follow these directions in order to set up an account without requiring a credit card:
1. You will need to turn on the power.
2. Hold the button down for a few seconds until you see an apple icon
appear. Then release.
3. Tap the App Store icon.
4. On your iPad, locate the search field in the top right-hand corner of
the App Store.
5. Type “iBooks” into the search field. When you see if listed in the results, tap “iBooks” and it will take it to your results screen.
6. Tap the “FREE” button next to the iPad app for iBooks.
7. Next, tap the “INSTALL” button.
8. On the Sign In popup, tap “Create New Apple ID”.
9. On the New Account window, confirm your country and click Next.
