Working with Your iPad Settings
iPad Settings
In the Settings app, there are many options for controlling various aspects of your iPad. This is the hub of customization for the functionality of your iPad and its apps. By tapping on the Settings icon and
choosing the desired area from the list, specific controls can be
changed. Here are a few of the most commonly used areas within Settings:
Wi-Fi- This is where wireless access is controlled. Specific wireless
networks can be selected by tapping the name of the network, entering
any passwords (if needed), and waiting for a checkmark to display next
to the name.
General- This area is very important to your iPad. There are several
sections within the General area which are described below:
Software Update- Any operating system updates will show up
here. When these occur, tap on the available update and follow
the on-screen directions.
Auto-Lock- This allows you to decide how long the iPad waits
until it puts itself to sleep. To save battery life, you may want to
have a shorter time setting, but when presenting, you may want
to set this to “Never”.
Side Switch- Next to “Use Side Switch To:” you can change the
functionality of the side switch which is defaulted to be mute.
Here you can change it to locking the orientation of the screen.
Reset- Do not touch this area unless you are leaving your position and have been given directions for resetting your iPad. Otherwise, information will be permanently lost.
Settings has controls for your iPad as well as app control.
