debut of “A Slice of Mary Lee’s House” at
the Courthouse. Ms. Farrior’s vision to
create a child-friendly place for abused
children and their families where they can
seek meaningful resources became a reality
with the opening of Mary Lee’s House in
the fall of 2008. The child protection and
advocacy center is an asset beyond
measure. Mr. Farrior, who is Ms. Farrior’s
son, serves as chairman of the board and
president of Mary Lee’s House. I am very
thankful for the collaboration of Jennifer
Kuhn, director of Mary Lee’s House, and
Kelley Parris, executive director of the
Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.
I encourage you to stop by the third
floor of the Edgecomb Courthouse next
time you are in the building. The artwork
is amazing, and the children are already
enjoying it. n
