This issue’s cover continues our Bar year theme of highlighting the national parks. This photo of the famous Mount
Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota was taken in 1988 by another HCBA member, Tom Elligett, a past
president of the Association and a frequent contributor to the magazine. Completed in 1941 under the direction of
Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln, the Mount Rushmore sculpture's roughly 60-ft.-high granite faces depict U.S.
presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Note: Other
members are invited to submit their photos of national parks for consideration to use on the magazine cover this
