Dear friends and colleagues, welcome to the 2026-2027 Bar year!
My name is Angie Rosello, and I am honored to serve as Chair of the Marital & Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association this year. I am an attorney at Sessums Black, P. A., where I practice family law, exclusively.
One of the Section’ s core missions is to promote professionalism, ethics, and civility among family law practitioners. This year we will continue that mission through informative CLEs, luncheons and roundtables that bring our members face-to-face with the judiciary, and partnerships with pro bono organizations providing free legal assistance to those who need it most.
This year’ s theme is connection. Beyond our excellent programming, I want to build bridges to other voluntary bar associations so that
we can create connections across practice areas, generations, and other would-be divides. It is easy for any section to settle into the same routine with the same familiar faces. My goal is to join forces with other outstanding HCBA sections and voluntary bar associations to host networking events that spark camaraderie across the bar, so that we can learn from one another, forge new friendships, and build a stronger, more connected legal community— all while continuing the high level of activity and education for which our Section is known.
I also hope to grow our membership this year. Belonging to the Section carries real, tangible benefits, but just as valuable is the camaraderie and sense of community it offers. Family law is emotionally demanding work and being part of a community of practitioners who understand those
demands makes all the difference. I know it has made all the difference in my life, and I hope it can do the same for you. If you are not yet a member, I encourage you to join us. It is a privilege to serve the Marital & Family Law Section this year. I believe there are real opportunities to make the practice of family law more tolerable, and even enjoyable, and I look forward to making progress on that front alongside all of you.
