Greetings and welcome back to another amazing Hillsborough County Bar Association year! As the incoming co-chair of the Environmental, Land Use, and Eminent Domain Section with current co-chair, Ryan Reese, I’ d like to introduce myself. I am an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Tampa and was formerly with the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County. I have been practicing local government and environmental law for approximately 6 years, with prior professional experience as an environmental scientist. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the members of this section and the Bar this coming year!
Ryan and I look forward to continuing the great programming established by former chair, Gordon Schiff, and providing more opportunities for engagement among the section members such as regular luncheons and networking socials. For now, please mark your calendars to save the date for the 9th Annual Environmental, Land Use, and Eminent domain Conference on March 5, 2027! If you are interested in presenting or speaking at the conference, sponsoring the selected pro bono organization or the event itself, or joining our planning committee, please reach out to Ryan or me. This conference is the section’ s most widely attended event, welcoming all types of participants such as land use attorneys, environmental attorneys, local judges, eminent domain practitioners, land-planners, engineers, environmental scientists, and law students. We anticipate another successful conference and plan to see you all there! n
