about the Cover

We wrap up this Bar year of highlighting local military history by featuring images of the Hillsborough County Veterans Memorial Park on the cover of this issue. The 14-acre Park serves as a serene sanctuary honoring military service members and fallen heroes. Established in 1989 on a repurposed county landfill site, the park has evolved into a regional site for reflection and education. Located at 3602 US Highway 301 along the Cross Channel Canal, the beautifully landscaped grounds feature the Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum. Visitors can explore war memorials, real field artillery, military tanks, and helicopters. It provides a peaceful walking path, outdoor pavilions, and serves as a vital community hub for major annual commemorative events. For more information on the Park, visit https:// veteransparkhc. org.
