A senior partner with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, Yadley has practiced law in Hillsborough County since 1981. During that time, he has served as the firm’ s managing partner and past chair of its corporate, tax and transactions practice group.
“ Greg’ s impact on Hillsborough County and the state of Florida’ s corporate landscape cannot be overstated,” Timmerman told the crowd.“ He has been a fixture since the day he began practicing.”
Timmerman highlighted Yadley’ s decades of Bar service at the local, state, national, and international levels.
Locally, Yadley has served on multiple HCBA committees and also as a Hillsborough County Bar Foundation trustee. At the state level, Yadley chaired the Florida Bar’ s Business Law Section, and in 2025, he was honored with the Judge Michael G. Williamson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Timmerman also noted Yadley’ s national influence is significant. He chaired the American Bar Association’ s Business Law Section, served as the long-time chair of the Federal Securities Institute, and acted as secretary of the SEC’ s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee.
Yadley also has shared his vast knowledge as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida’ s Levin College of Law.
Timmerman added that Yadley’ s legacy is perhaps most visible in his tireless service to the Tampa Bay community. Yadley is the immediate past chair of the Florida
Orchestra and holds leadership roles with the Community
Foundation Tampa Bay and The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art.
Whether leading Visit Tampa Bay or Leadership Tampa Alumni, Yadley has always believed that a strong community is built through cultural engagement and a shared vision, Timmerman said.
In his brief and gracious acceptance remarks, Yadley expressed his deep pride in his Tampa roots and his devotion to his family.
Yadley also said the practice of law is not just a career, but a commitment to serving others with honor.
“ We’ re very lucky,” Yadley said.“ We have the opportunity to do good, to promote justice, and to serve our clients.”
