It is with great honor and appreciation that I have the pleasure of being elected and serving as your President for 2024-2025 . I have served this Association continuously since I was first elected to the Young Lawyers Division Board in 2006 . Over the last 18 years , I have observed consistency in our Association , but I have also observed some evolutions in the way we practice law and the way we interact with each other as lawyers .
As to the consistency of our Association , I am happy to report that the HCBA is as strong as ever . Our strength is owed in no large part to our outstanding members , numbering almost 3,600 strong . The HCBA maintains approximately 30 sections and committees which allow members to advance professionally in their specific practice area and make valuable connections in their fields through meetings , CLE ’ s , and roughly 130 luncheons . The HCBA offers over 70 CLE seminars , hosts free quarterly luncheons and special
events , and gives back locally through various community service programs . While too numerous to list in this form , I encourage all members to get more involved with the events and programming available . The HCBA also continues to benefit immensely from a fantastic relationship with our local judiciary . Our Judges attend our events in great numbers , interact with our members , and also make massive contributions to the Association by putting on the Bench Bar Conference and the Judicial Food Festival . The relationships amongst our members and with the judiciary are the reason Hillsborough County is the best and most professional jurisdiction to practice law in the state of Florida .
The financial strength of the association remains as strong as ever . We will continue attempting to innovate
