information from being otherwise publicly accessible . The bill provides that this exemption applies to information held by an agency before , on , or after the effective date of this exemption .
To make it easier for military personnel , my office created an official records personal information exemption handbook and posted it on our website at hillsclerk . com .
The handbook includes the steps you can take and the forms you need to initiate the review process to determine if the exemption applies to personal information within the official records . The exemption is subject to an Open Government Sunset Review and will be automatically repealed on October 2 , 2029 , unless reenacted by the Legislature .
Please refer to Chapter Law 2024-111 when determining if you qualify for the exemption . This exemption applies solely to your personal information within the Official Records . It does not apply to your personal information within a court record .
My office also offers active military members and veterans the opportunity to bypass lines at our customer service counters . You will notice a special button at our kiosks where customers check in , allowing you to move to the front of the virtual queue .
