and feedback on what worked and what was less effective during their criminal and civil jury experience . Many an attendee told me after that it was one of the best and most useful Continuing Legal Education presentations they had ever attended .
After the membership luncheon , practitioners were given the opportunity to converse with the judiciary at roundtable discussions with the family , criminal , and civil judges . The afternoon sessions focused on caselaw updates , attorney ’ s fees , evidence , and jury selection . The wide variety of subject matter presented throughout the day meant there really was a session for everyone . Again , I would like to extend my gratitude to Judge Ward , Judge
Palermo , the Bench Bar Committee , and all the judges and attorneys who made such an amazing event possible .
As to the issue either in your hands or on your screen , one article I want to make sure to highlight is Brandon Breslow ’ s excellent piece on behalf of the Appellate Section . In it , he lays out two pro bono opportunities for appellate attorneys to help litigants in need through the Guardian ad Litem Office ’ s Defending Best Interests Project as well as the Eleventh Circuit ’ s Addendum Five program . I also strongly encourage everyone to read Nick Horner ’ s reminiscence of his father , and how he found peace on Mount Everest . Kudos to his firm for such a strong show of support . I hope that everyone has a thankful , restful , and enjoyable holiday season ! n
