Welcome to the 2023-2024 year with The Standing Committee for Diversity , Equity and Inclusion ( DEI ). I , as well as Antina Mobley , the chairs of DEI , welcome you . We hope that you will join us for an all new and exciting year !
Starting off the Bar year , our members worked diligently on the
DEI Law Student Networking & Career Fair . This event took place in September , and showcased why it is great to practice law and live in the Tampa Bay area . The 2023 Law Student Networking & Career Fair was designed to connect law students from across the State with local attorneys , law firms , judges , local bar associations , nonprofit organizations and government agencies in a casual , friendly , and low-pressure environment . The goal of the event was to allow law students to make connections within the Tampa Bay legal community that will serve the students in their law school careers and assist the students in their transition from law school to the practice of law . In addition , the Networking & Career Fair promoted diversity and inclusion , while generating awareness about the practice of law , and providing volunteer and networking opportunities ( see photos from the event on pages 32 and 33 .)
