The Clerk ’ s office protects your data by way of redaction , or confidential scenarios created by court decisions . Our ability to protect your data with our system is crucial . Your ability to protect your data should be a priority as well .
October was Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023 , which is a collaboration between government and private industry to raise awareness about digital security and empower individuals to keep their data safe .
The National Cybersecurity Alliance , as well as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency ( CISA ), offer
many resources that may benefit you as an individual as well as in your workplace .
The Clerk ’ s Office recently shared an article written by our Information Technology ( IT ) team for all of our employees providing tips to avoid cyber threats . The article on “ two-factor authentication ” aimed to educate employees about the practice of using a secondary method to access an account . The article listed four methods of authentication :
• “ Possession ” requires you to have something on your person ( cell phone , key fob , etc .)
• “ Location ” requires you to be in a specific area or on a specific machine ( city , state , specific machine , etc .)
• “ Biometric ” uses a physical attribute of the user ( fingerprint , retinal scan , etc .)
• “ Knowledge ” means you know something only known to you . ( password , passphrase , etc .)
