Wapole has dedicated her whole career to supporting under-represented / under-resourced children and families . Dr . Wapole has courtroom experience in dependency and delinquency . She worked as a Senior Program Attorney for the Guardian ad Litem Program in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit . In addition , she worked in the juvenile division of the Office of the Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit as an Assistant Public Defender . Before becoming a lawyer , Dr . Wapole received a Ph . D . in linguistics from Northwestern University and was employed as an educator working with English-language learners .
Congratulations to Mark Wolfson of Foley & Lardner , who was recognized on January 20 by The Florida Bar for his pro bono service . Wolfson , who was the annual recipient of The Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award for the 13th Judicial Circuit , began volunteering with the Bay Area Legal Services ’ Volunteer Lawyers Program ( VLP ) in 1995 . During the course of his pro bono service , Wolfson donated 450 posted hours through October 2021 and is currently working on 11 open cases . Wolfson also serves on Bay Area Legal Services ’ Intake Clinic panel and mentors other attorneys .
