Whether it is participating in the John Germany “Read to Dream” Young Readers Initiative, Wills for Heroes, or other programs, we hope to highlight and give Section members ample opportunities to participate in pro bono service and community service this year. We also hope to supplement our substantive educational programming with opportunities to learn and share about how to survive (and hopefully thrive) during these challenging times as we support our colleagues, clients, families, and ourselves. We will be eager to collaborate with other Hillsborough County Bar Association Sections to support members across multiple areas of practice. While we are all in this together, we recognize that the pandemic has impacted each of us a bit differently and we can all learn from one another’s experiences. Like you, we are not yet sure whether this year’s events will be offered virtually, or whether we will meet in person. Either way, you can expect the same quality of educational opportunities made available to Section members even if we have to engage remotely. We know you will all miss the delicious lunches we typically get to enjoy together during our quarterly CLE meetings! We also commit to publishing insightful articles in Lawyer magazine, written by our members. To that end, if you are interested in contributing to these publications, we encourage you to contact us with topics of interest. To learn more about our Section and upcoming events, or to find out how to get involved or volunteer, please contact either of us at any time: Erica Mallon ([email protected]) or Beth Scarola ([email protected]). Our thoughts go out to all of our members and their families at this time. We wish the best of health to each of you and look forward to you in-person very soon. But until then, we will continue to connect remotely and do our best to make lemonade out of the lemons we have been handed! n Authors: Erica Mallon - Greenway Health & Elizabeth Scarola - Epstein Becker & Green, P.C.
