Top and top right: Mangroves protect the country of Samoa from soil erosion and add nutrients to the soil for growing banana and taro plants. The mangrove trees also
share a symbiotic relationship with the coral reefs. The coral reduce the force of the ocean waves giving the mangrove calm water, while the mangrove roots filter soil
