Responsibilities of Students
To achieve academic and social success, the students of the Teaneck Elementary Schools should familiarize themselves with the following responsibilities:

Always do your best Be respectful of property, others and yourself, at all times Accept full responsibility for your behavior and actions Be prepared for school, seek help when needed and be responsible for making up all missed work and tests Make the best use of time and contribute positively to class, group and school activities
Responsibilities of Parents / Guardians � Be the primary advocate for your child‘ s education � Encourage attendance at school and prompt arrival � Support the goals of the Teaneck Elementary Schools as stated in the student handbook � Be supportive of the school‘ s decisions when they affect your child � Play an active role in promoting your child‘ s learning experience and positive behavior
Responsibilities of Administrators � Effectively communicate school goals to students, staff, parents and the community � Promote a school climate that positively engages and encourages productive relationships among and between students, staff, parents / guardians, and community � Create and maintain a safe learning environment
Responsibilities of Staff � Treat each other, students, parents / guardians, and the community with dignity and respect � Support and maintain a positive school climate and school goals � Actively monitor behavior in classroom, hallways, cafeteria, etc. � Hold all students to high expectations
Parents / Guardians and Students: All students are expected to behave appropriately in accordance with general rules of good conduct, Board policy and regulations. The administration will consider each case individually and administer appropriate discipline in accordance with Board policy. Drugs, alcohol and weapons are never permitted at school, on a school bus or at school-sponsored functions. ― Weapons ‖ includes knives, guns of any sort( including ― toy or other imitation,‖ pellet and B- B guns), slingshots, chains, box cutters, or anything that can be used to inflict serious bodily injury.
We want our students to feel that Teaneck Elementary Schools are comfortable and safe places for all of them to ― live and learn ‖. We expect that while at school they will behave appropriately in accordance with general rules of good conduct, Board policy and regulations.
