It’s that time of the year again when we start to think about booking in to see our
Accountant/Tax Advisor to prepare our 2015 income taxes.
But before we get to that phone call, we need to start at the beginning and remember
which drawer the last 12 month’s receipts or log books are sitting in, let alone bank statements from
the bank. We’ve compiled basic check lists for you to assist w getting this year’s return together
ith
and hope it can make it a little easier.
INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURNS CHECKLIST
Small Business End of Tax Year Checklist
Income – Bank statements, reconciled cashbook,
debtors listing, Accounting Software files
INCOME
PAYG Summaries
Pensions or Government payments/
Allowances
Interest earned for the relevant year from
the banks, building societies etc.
Dividend Statements
Details of rental property income
Details of any business income
Details of any other income earned
Cost of managing tax affairs
Charitable donations
Banks – Total interest received
Share Trading Statements – statements of
shares purchased, sold or held, dividend
statements
Purchase or Disposal of assets details – Details of
assets, price and date
Loans – Statements for all loans owing by the
business with end of financial year balance and
interest paid
Employees – Copies of payment summaries and
annual reconciliation for salaries and wages,
information relating to super contributions made
for each employee and director.
EXPENSES
Work Related Expenses eg: Uniforms, tools,
education, fees etc.
