The new Daily is on its way
Iveco’s award-winning new Daily
range will soon be available to
Australian light commercial vehicle
buyers, with 4x2 van and cab
chassis variants due for imminent
release and boasting a number of
new market-leading features and
technology.
The Daily range was recently
awarded the prestigious
‘International Van of the Year 2015’
accolade at the 65th Hanover
International Motor Show. In securing
the award, the Daily finished 17
points clear of the other shortlisted
finalists. The new Daily impressed
the expert judging panel, as
stated by J. Sweeney, Chairman of
International Van of the Year: “In
the most competitive year ever the
new Iveco Daily was the number one
choice of the 23 members of the jury,
representing the top commercial
vehicle publications across Europe
and Russia.”
The latest release is the third
generation of the Daily range and
was developed on a completely
renewed platform featuring 80 per
cent new components. The new
architecture raises the performance
of the Daily to best-in-class levels in
the single-wheel van segment.
In the developing the new Daily,
Iveco engineers have focused on
improvements in the key areas of
load space, driver comfort, and fuel
efficiency. The range also boasts
truck-like strength combined with
car-like driving characteristics and
delivers handling and load carrying
capacity at the top of the category.
The new range provides quality
European manufacturing and will
be available in van, cab chassis and
dual cab chassis variants with GVM
ranging from 3.8 to 7 tonnes. Savvy
business owners will also appreciate
significant total cost of ownership
reduction over the preceding range,
achieved through fuel efficiency
gains as well as a reduction in
maintenance and repair costs.
On offer is a choice of three
engines ranging from 126 hp (94
kW) to a class-leading 205 hp (153
kW). Complementing the powerful
and efficient twin-turbocharged
diesel engines is the availability of
either a 6-speed manual or the new
Hi-Matic market-leading ZF 8-speed
automatic transmission. Exclusive to
the new Daily in its class, the Hi-Matic
transmission sets new standards
of versatility, and cost efficiency
while guaranteeing maximum driver
comfort.
Iveco Product Manager, Christian
Andel, said the new range was very
well specified for the needs of the
Australian market and would have an
impact once released.
CENTRAL LOCKING WITH
REMOTE CONTROL
“The Daily range received a
resounding ‘thumbs-up’ in Europe
winning Van of the Year, and Iveco is
confident that the new models will be
very well received by customers in
Australia,” Mr Andel said.
“Among the many improvements
over the previous models are several
class-leading advances, including the
