Richmond RSL Sub-branch will once again lead the community in commemorating ANZAC Day, with a march through Richmond on Sunday 19 April 2026.
The procession will step off at 2.30pm, travelling along West Market, Windsor and East Market Streets before arriving at the Richmond War Memorial in Richmond Park. Leading the march will be the Light Horse, followed by veterans in jeeps and the Hawkesbury District Band.
They will be joined by contingents from Richmond and Windsor RSL Subbranches, the National Servicemen’ s Association, Descendants of Veterans, RAAF Base Richmond, military cadets, and a range of community groups including Scouts, Guides and local school students. The commemorative service will commence at 3.00pm at the Richmond War Memorial and will include a traditional Catafalque Party, keynote addresses, and the laying of veteran and community wreaths.
Veterans, ex-service personnel and current serving members are warmly invited to take part in the march, joining behind the Sub-branch banner. Those wishing to participate are asked to contact Secretary Gillian Fletcher on 0438 782 419 to assist with planning. Descendants of veterans are also encouraged to march and, where possible, wear medals on the right-hand side.

Lest We Forget

The broader community is invited to line the streets in support, paying tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our nation.
Richmond RSL Sub-branch will also host the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at 5.00am on Saturday 25 April at the Richmond War Memorial. The service will follow traditional proceedings, including a Catafalque Party, addresses and wreath laying.
Covered seating will be available for veterans, dignitaries and elderly attendees, who are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to each service.
Each year, Richmond RSL Sub-branch proudly welcomes the many organisations and individuals who lay wreaths in honour of our service men and women. Local families and descendants are again invited to lay private wreaths in remembrance of loved ones.
Richmond RSL Sub-branch, together with the Richmond Club, remains deeply committed to honouring the service and sacrifice of past and present military personnel, ensuring their contribution continues to be recognised, respected and remembered.
For more information about the march, descendant participation or wreath laying, please contact Secretary Gillian Fletcher on 0438 782 419 or Publicity Officer Lynette Bowles on( 02) 4578 2804.
